Clutch Squeaks When Pressed to Shift
 

I recently replaced my original cluster pedal with a rebuild pedal cluster and both the original and rebuilt pedal cluster squeaks when I depress the clutch pedal. Sounds like the spring needed oiling on the original set, but an identical squeak is coming from the rebuilt cluster. Should I:

A. Sell the car.
B. Have the transmission and engine rebuilt.
C. Add a Cool Collar.
D. Find out where I need to spray some WD40.

Anybody have an answer for "D"

mine creeks at the spring on the tranny. Id add a cool colar first. If that doesnt work then sell it. These old cars arnt worth the $ to rebuild. As for "D" Im unfirmiliar with this "wd-40" but you might try some spray lube on the spring.
Seriously some people dont know what wd-40 is :)

I'd install some cool rotors (frozen rotors) or maybe a K&N air filter and some really fast looking flame stickers on the doors.

Either that, or install the brass pedal bushings with some moly grease. WD40 will attack and ruin plastic bushings. If you have to stick with plastic bushings, use a synthetic (non petroleum) lubricant.

Spray the helper spring, be sure to hit the spot where the spring hooks on at both ends. While your there spray the bushings and other pivot points then wipe clean to attract less dirt. (Wishful thinking)

What did it end up being? I have the same problem, and it appears to be from in the pedal cluster not underneath the car. Did lubing up the clutch-return spring do it?

I've always said "the WD stands for water displacement and the 40 stands for the IQ of those that think it's a lubricant". I'M JUST JOKING EVERYONE SO DON'T FLAME ME FOR INSULTING ANYONE!!!

mine was making a noise. WD40 on the pedal cluster and springs fixed it. it took several tries..had to use a lot of WD40
