Why for a Beetle and not a 911??
While looking at a spin off link on the early 911S registry I came across this photo of a VW Beetle and it's elegant carbon fiber replacement for what I'd guess must have been a similar ugly fiberboard cover to our cars originally.
It made me think if they do this for a Beetle why not a 911? Anyone know what it would take to get some of these made up and if this is common aftermarket for VW's or a one off?

I've seen something like that for 911's in one of the catalogs.

That's to cover the missing wiper motor and associated wiper mechanism...distracts your attention!
