Don't know anything in SF, but if you're willing to head over the GG Bridge to Marin, give S-Car-Go racing in San Rafael a try. About 15 miles from SF. Rob King's an excellent guy and will treat you right,

Tom Amon is a mobile mechanic in the Bay area. He'll go to the owner's house or office and do the PPI. www.mobileworkswest.com

If you do a search, you'll find people rave about his work.

Another good option is Eason Autoworks in Oakland. I recently used him for some work and he seemed like a stand up guy who did the work for a reasonable price:

Stay Away from Tom. I can give you many examples where he did crappy work and or ripped customers off.. I have a 914-6 that he built, we finally fired it up and is has a rod knock. He's a rip off. Stay away from Tom Amon

Wow! You are the first person I've seen criticize his work. There are dozens of happy customers here on the board. Care to provide more details? Did you talk to him about the problems?

Won't bash him but didn't have much luck with Tom either from PPI to subsequent work. Highly recommend Jimmy Deering Mobile Works East .

that zip code is actually castro valley. you are better off going to Kahlers in dublin. i had a carrera go there, and they were pretty good. (carrera is still keeping the owner happy).

Thumbs down Another for Jimmy..

All though he is in the middle of alot of catching up todo with the norcal guys. He goes north from LA every other week.. For a PPI Jimmy can catch with the eye, that most others cant... I know he is headed that way to install a turbo Tuesday, and will be up there for about a week.

He was going to shoot for 89+ but he prefers to stay with 89 and earliers..

BTW: I have heard and read that someone has been messing up that was posted. More in the range of shops rates at your door step.

Washer plus tax.... $150.00..lol

The car was sold the weekend before I could get the PPI out. I didn't get to contact anyone for a PPI. Thanks for the quick responses.
