Porsche Crest Cabrio Experts -Question on leaving top down

Just wondering, If I were to leave my top down, under the cover, and parked in the garage, will the top suffer any degradation??

Like will the window have more creases and crack sooner?
Will the canvas stretch or deform?
Will the cabrio frame get bent from being down for weeks or months?
Have you ever left it folded down for a few months and seen the results??
etc,,,

Just curious because I have been told to leave the top up, unless I am driving it with the top down.......

thanks,

Probably. I always zipper mine down & lay a towel before dropping the top.

Not stretch but crease. It always takes a while to recover.

I doubt it.

No. Never more than a day or 2.

Just my opinion but plastic windows & tops are expensive. Why risk damage when it's so easy to put the top up?

Just replaced my top recently and installer recommended leaving it in the "up" position when not in use!

Looks like we all have the same opinion: Leave it up when not in use.... Thank you all!

Hi Scott,

Mines in the garage with the top up as well.

I keep it in the garage with a car cover; primarily to keep the kids off it....

I really wish I could have a 3-4 car garage.....

I know...tell me about it. One of my cars always has to be outside.

I'd like to add that mine is always "up" as well in the garage, but also covered. I have the metal garage door with the window panels and the sun comes through in the morning/afternoon. The cover is to help prevent UV damage to the vinyl window.

Eventually I will need a new top due to the fabric tearing near the top corners and the vinyl window, but until then....

Its really tough for us Scott.
I park my Audi outside and my company car as well (but this one is OK of course).
I guess this is not a terrible problem. We should consider ourselves luck... ;-))
