Oil Return Tubes-sucessful project

I just got my replacement oil return tubes to replace the two leaky ones on the drivers side on my 1987 911 from our friends at Pelican. As this was my first semi big project, I have to tell you I was a little anxious that I might not be able to complete this task. But with the tips from the forums it was pretty easy (but time consuming - about 3 hours)
The best tip was to use the pipe clams to use for leverage, the task could not be done without it, and I didn't even have to remove the heater exchangers.

Now my next job is to adjust the valves, the box from pelican is waiting to be opened.

Congrats!

Were these the oil lines the go under the door sill? Or just the ones in the rear fender?

I have a smashed one (someone used it as a jack point! ) but still operational in which I need to replace at some time.

Was it messy?

It seems like he replaced the tubes under the cylinders, "oil return tubes".

I did that project as well.

Yep the ones that are under the cylinders, that was my only cause of leaks (I hope!)

I know there a about a billion threads on this.. but anyway, there are at least two different companies making collapsible oil return tubes. If anyone out there is planning on doing this job use the slightly better aluminum tubes not the cheap-ass steel ones since they slide better and just look a lot sturdy-er.
Either way tho, once they're in they are in!
