Do I have a pedal cluster mismatch?

I'm using a '71 cluster with a mag case 915, year unknown.

Will the '71 cluster provide enough throw for the 915?

Huh? For the clutch? They are the same through 86 except for the power brake set up, but even then the cluster is the same.

not so sure about that. when the clutch cable changed so did the pedal cluster. helper spring vs. non helper spring 915. basically i dont know exactly what, but there are subtle differences.

The position of the arm that the clutch cable attaches to on the pedal cluster changed when they introduced the helper spring in 77 or 78. Trust me, I went through hell trying to figure out the problem when I installed an aluminum 915 in my 76. I ended up having to change the pedal cluster.
