Throttle adjustment problem!

Ok I have 1969T with a 2.4 liter with webers and have replaced accelerator bushing and accelerator lever, replaced the bushing on the accelerator rod, replaced the bushing on the bell crank that hooks up to the tranny and the one up by the carbs. For some reason im still not getting WOT when I press done the pedel and when i do press it down harder the accelerator lever bends down and to the side getting stuck under the tunnel were the accelerator rods runs thru. The carbs only open up about 2/3 of the way when i look down into them. I have shortend everything i can without cutting things up but I think I may have the wrong accelerator rod in my car take a look.

(this is the end that connects to the bell crank on the tranny the other end is all one peice up until the spherical ball joint)

That does not look like mine, but I have a 2.0 engine? I don't know why they would be different, but perhaps they are?

Mine does not have that "U" shaped connector in your photo???

My rod exits the tunnel and connects to that "cylindrical, rubber canister" (which I have no idea of it's purpose), then an additional rod attaches at the transmission bell-crank location. Another rod runs up-wards through the rear engine tin to the bell-crank on the motor ...with a final, short rod to the carb. linkages on top.

Rich,
Recently Grady Clay responded to a thread with the following:
"Be sure and use the accelerator linkage transmission bell crank from your ’71 transmission. The ratio is different."
Is it possible the bell crank at the transaxle is the wrong ratio?
