that thing in front of the heater?
Hello All.
I have a 71' 911t coupe. I need to replace a strange part. Can't seem to find it. Muchos Gracias to anyone who can help. Inside the trunk, located up top is a black hardened cardboard curved piece that protects the heater/ from the luggage compartment. It has four bolts that hold it in place. Anyone know what this is called or where to get a replacement? Thanks. -JB |

That's unfortunately the listing in the Pelican Parts Search. Stoddard doesn't show anything either. |
Try a parts recycler like Parts Heaven or Oklahoma. Both advertise in Pano or go to Google.

You could also try DC Automotive (no affliliation...):
The part shows out of stock but would not hurt to call: http://dcauto.gotdns.com/catalog/index.php?pattern=911551067&choice=all&btnG=Search &priormode=&searchtype=all&mode=search&filter=sphi nx If the above link does not work: http://www.dcautomotive.com Regards, David |

I wonder if we could just come up with something reproduction for a cover. Mine has been off of the car for a while since I've been trying to clean up the trunk and dealing with some wiring issues. Really the cover looks like resin impregnated cardboard. Maybe I could try to make one out of fiberglass based on my original one.

if i had a dollar for the many of those ive thrown away over the years!
