Is there hope for an ugly part?
I never liked the look of the cis air box top So I decided to snazz mine up a bit.
Whaddya think? and how do you guys feel about the aardvark intake box:)? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1191630994.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1191631018.jpg |
Nice look...is that a wheel center cap on that pully?
|
Ha ha! I was screwing around and I hung that on the pulley. I totally forgot it was there.:o oh man...
|
looks great! too bad the straps will cover it up
|
Nice job. When I saw it, I was thinking what it would look like if the text was actually a little bigger and cut out of the cover?
Oh man, you just inspired me. Get a set of early P-O-R-S-C-H-E letters, in chrome maybe... figure out the layout of where the letters should go, drill the appropriate holes for the mounting studs, and then out a high heat black crinkle finish on it the cover and reattach scripts. |
Like the polished FI runners!
|
You have way too much time on your hands! (Looks nice!)
|
Thanks for the compliments, As for the straps, I'm going to rivet some stainless steel tabs onto the box lip and the strap hooks and use camloc fasteners on it.
Shane, I also like, your idea, and how the "SC" is right in the middle of the word "Porsche" |
Nice, gotta be worth at least 10hp I love silver and red
|
It looks 30MPH faster just sitting there!
|
The fact that the rest of your engine is so clean too helps.
Looks good! |
Holy crap! Look at those intake runners!
Even the fan strap is pristine. Not only do you take your time to make everything look perfect, I like the idea of painting the cis air box cover. It never occured to me. Ecellent look that goes great with the rest of your engine. |
Norm, how did you prep the engine shroud before paint? Some kind of primer?
