XDI sensor wiring

Could someone confirm this XDI crank-sensor wiring connection.

XDI / sensor

shield -- shield
black -- black
red -- white

I've been advised that the black and white wires, from the sensor, may need to be switched. Thank you!

Wired like that you should be fine.

If you have spark issues you cant pin down you may have to get an o'scope on the trigger wires to determine whether you have a rising edge, or falling edge trigger... most use rising... electromotive included..

Thanks Tim. This is an intermittent problem. Car has started to die out on engine decel. ie-- push in the clutch to shift and motor dies. Never happens under load or while idling. Clewett has been great in trying to assist, but it's hard to diagnose over the phone. Someone had mentioned an issue with getting the wires reversed where the pick-up connects to the harness, so I thought I'd try and make sure it was OK. Certainly appreciate the reply!
