CIS Fuel Pump and carbs

I've done the search and all indications are that with the proper pressure regulator (PMO) and a recirculating fuel system, the CIS pump can be used with carbs. I just wanted to verify this type of system before I burn the car down.
Thanks,
Jim S.

My mechanic (Tab Tanner) recommended that we switch to a low pressure, high volume electric fuel pump and a new pressure regulator when we switched to Webers. Sell your CIS fuel pump and help defray the cost of the project as the replacement fuel pumps are cheap!

I've used the original CIS pump on my '76 for almost three years now with the PMO bypass regulator with no issues. Very good pressure regulation. Simple and reliable.

Yes - it works fine and is a very high quality pump. You may want to relocate it to the front to deal with hot start issues in summer.

Richard Parr (Mr. PMO) told me to NOT ditch the CIS pump when I asked if I should switch to a low pressure, high volume electric fuel pump. So that is the word of the designer...

search on Racor for a nice fuel filter.

I used the CIS pump with my PMOs for about 6 months before the pump gave up the ghost, which I don't believe had anything to do with the carbs but rather old age. I used a Holley for awhile and I now have a Carter, and I honestly regret not having just replaced the CIS pump. The Bosch pumps for our cars are well-made.

Thanks for the advice, I'll use the pump without fear.

+1 on the Racor. Great filter, easy to maintain.

+2 on Racor. Check marine suppliers, get the smallest micron possible.
