Drilling antenna hole in '68 fender
Hi all, can someone provide some measurements for drilling a stock antenna hole for a manual Hirschmann on the drivers side fender behind the fuel filler?
And yes, I know about amplified antennas, but I want to mount an antenna in the stock location, so I need the hole. Thanks for any help! |

Mike-
I have my '68 in the paint shop right now, and I welded up the antenna hole, but the fenders are off the car and I can still get a measurement on the underside to the center of the plug, if you can wait until Monday, when I will be going out to the shop again. Maybe someone else can measure theirs before then for you, though. TT

why not mount it inside the front trunk, across the cowl? no hole needed unless you're into AM radio.

Tom, I can wait, thanks for your help! Let me know.
John, actually I DO listen to AM. Mainly for Cub games. |

Mike-
I measured 10-3/8" from the rear tip of the fender to the center of the old hole for the antenna on Monday. Unfortunately, I forgot to reply to this thread until today. Sorry! ![]() TT

A belated thanks for the measurement! I will compare it to some other references I have and then bust out the drill.
