Converting a 912 to a 911

I have the opportunity to purchase a 67 912. The engine is seized from rust (probably water in the cylinders). I have a 74 2.7 setting in the garage. I think the 2.7 will bolt up to the 901 transmission (I know that the gearing is different). I will need to weld in the 911 motor mount brackets and add an oil tank. Has anyone done this conversion? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Many have... I wouldn;t, but I like my 912 the way it is ;-) I can see the attraction...
Try searching on 912registry.org 's forum ! Lots of info !

912/911

you will need a 2 liter flywheel, and clutch setup, the electrical panel, electric fuel pump to match the motor induction system, put double outlets on the fuel tank, depending on the injection sys, or carbs. May need bigger tortion bars and shocks. Its fairly simple, I did one in 1975 and drove it for several years
