Question Help! Engine chokes during acceleration.

Hey all...need some assistance.

79 911sc.... it's been parked for about 8 months (bad fuel pump).... replaced fuel pump a week ago with a new bosch oem.

Added fresh gas and carefully turned the engine.... then started the car. No problems starting...engine idles fine (a bit low I think, but it's ok).

Now, the problem comes in when I try to give the car some gas (while parked)... it's choking on me... instead of *vroooom, *vrooom.... I'm getting *cough, *cough.

Could my new pump be sending too much gas? Could it be electrical? Distributor? Coil? Plugs?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!
