Testing horn directly with battery.

The horn on my 70T doesn't work. I am an electrical ignoramus, but can I just stick 2 wires on it and hold them to the battery terminals to test it?

yes. did it just yesterday. hook 'em to the horn first so you don't short them together :)

Thanks Herr Bürgermeister. Guess I'll check the relay next if the horn's ok.

sometimes horns are locked up from sitting too long. They can get corrosion on internal contacts. So.. try this
squirt wd 40 (or similar penetrant oil) down its throat, swish it around, then drain. Run the horn the correct direction positive/negative. then try it again reversed. Sometimes it will come back to life
