Targa 911S 1969 -next project
Hi Porsche fans,
As I finished rebuilding my 911S from 1970 is time to start next project -2 years awaiting 911S from 1969. Friends o f mine joking that I am a Targa man so it's second Targa I have. Still I fall in love to coupe. So some details about this car. I found it via Internet but it was barn find car. Last years spent in barn just maybe 2-3 miles from me!! I saw in Internet that somebody trying to sell 911T from 1971 as well as so near to me. SO I like to inspect this car. Just when I came I saw it was not T it should be S model! I have made quick research for numbers and yes! It is s model! Impossible but true! Probably a man who register car years ago put T as Targa to description. Wrong year in papers comes from past as car was imported here in 1971 from Germany so custom and registration office put date of import instead of production year! So far so good. Bed thinks: somebody builds wide body in funny shape, as well as ad seats from 1974 or 76 car. Lot of rust is problem too. So see pictures from barn as well see dismantling http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1192172560.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1192172578.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1192172596.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1192172749.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1192172764.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1192172777.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1192172791.jpg |

Curt,
The 71'S he just finished was in way worse condition. Lot's of rust. This one doesn't look so bad from a rust point of view. Tommy, Maybe you can find some flairs that were cut off a narrow body car. Sometimes shops have them laying around left over from wide body conversions. That or find a nice pair of galvanized rear quarter panels from 76'/77' Targa. |
It takes long time but finally Project 69 is paint! So takes months but worth to wait.
Now assembling and detailing. Next $$$$... to spent but hope that it will be worth every penny invest...;) So see how it looks now: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236163024.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236163038.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236163053.jpg |
