installing rebuilt calipers and need to know trick
 

From what i've been reading there is a trick to bleeding the calipers if they have been rebuilt. Something about "preloading" by pressing brake pads in after the system has been bleed.

Can anyone shed any light on this or post link?

After I did my rebuild, I bled the brakes normally. No special tricks.

However, before you drive, press the brake pedal a few times. Since the pistons are pushed all the way in, the brake pads won't make contact with the rotors until a few pedal presses to get the fluid back in there.

Also, the pedal will be spongy after the rebuild. That should go away after a bit of driving.

have a look here. The pedal will firm up nicely for normal driving within a couple weeks of regular driving and some caliper exercising. If you use the car for non-track use, I'd just drive it after you have bled a couple times. If you have a power bleeded, you can also leave some pressure on overnight and do a final release of any small bubbles that time and pressure will collect into larger bubbles at the bleed points.
