intermitant indicators / signal lights
when i press down to turn left or correspondingly up to turn right - 90% of the time they work, then suddenly they don't after a period of driving.
no light flashing on the dash, no audible clicking - nothing. then next time i start up and all is hunky dory and it works like a dream. it's kinda scary driving at night with that situation when one needs to turn (hand signals not to good in pitch black). it's for the 69T - has anyone ideas to solve it? |
Sounds like classic old wiring problem where heat from use or engine operation is increasing resistance in a circuit. Start by checking all connections to be sure they are clean and tight--actually remove the connector and clean the connection--don't forget the grounds, too. If that doesn't help, do the same for all bulbs and sockets in the circuit. Finally, see that the flasher relay is seated properly or replace it with a known good one and see what happens.
You are not alone on this problem, just check the number of recent posts dealing with turn signal problems! Good luck, and keep us posted. |
Loose bulbs? Bad ground on one of the housings?
