When does the "built-by" effect lose its marketability?

I'm looking at a couple of early cars that have had extensive drivetrain and suspension rebuilds in the past by some very well-known builders in the Porsche community. Obviously the current owners spent good money for the services. However, 2 of these cars now have 30-50k miles on the engine job. Is the fact that these were theoretically "done right" still worth anything, or is there a lifespan where the engine is nearing a point where it will need another rebuild soon anyway (I have seen the documentation of the balancing/blueprinting, machine work, quality parts that went into these $15,000 rebuilds in 1995 dollars)?

Well documented maintenance by well-known builders will always be a plus, considering you sell it to a connoisseur.
