Engine Drop -- Project Cabriolet

Things have gone smoothly with the engine drop on my project '83 cabriolet since the return fuel line fitting trouble (see my earlier post on that matter). So smoothly that I spent most of yesterday double-checking that I had disconnected everything that needed to be disconnected. I also set up drain pans to try and catch all the oil in the disconnected lines that could possibly drain before covering them.

With all that completed, it was time to lower the car down so the engine/transmission sat atop blocks on the moving dolley -- and then to slowly lift the body away from the engine (while checking and adjusting). Woo-hoo! Job done!

Think I've paid for my lift yet? :)

Lots of cleaning ahead -- both the engine and transmission, and the engine bay -- and checking and diagnostics.

Were is the requisite engine drop picture? Stuff yourself into the engine compartment and have the wifey snap the pic!

Too cliche. I'll snap of a pic of a clean engine stuffed into a sparkling engine bay when this is all done. Oh, wait a minute that's cliche, too. Doh! ;)

Houston, we have engine-transmission separation. Good thing because my engine yoke arrived today.

Time to start cleaning the acorn tops and shell fragments off the engine. What is it with rodents and 911s?
