Quick fuel filter question please...
I'm going to replace my fuel filter but see no reason to replace the accumulator. There is no need to remove the accumulator correct. I just need to disconnect the filter from the accumulator and replace the filter right?
Sorry rookie questions but just wanted to make sure. Next, clutch cable replacement. Ooooooooooooooooooo! ![]()

Accumulator only requires replacement if it is leaking or CIS system pressure testing/trouble shooting indicates it has failed - leave it in place. Only replace the fuel filter. Disconnect battery ground strap prior to changing fuel filter. No sources of open flame - do not do this job in a garage with a natural gas hot water heater. Job is best done outside. Wear safety googles. Use two wrenches when loosening fittings on filter; one is to react the loosening torque so you don't twist a fuel line or other part. After changing the filter; reconnect battery ground and turn ignition key to on position (not start position). To purge and prime fuel system on engine: Pull off air filter cover and air filter and lift up air meter disk - fuel pump will come on and disk will stiffen and fuel system/pump sound will change. Hold up disk no more than 5 seconds. Look for leaks around fuel filter fittings. Reinstall air filter and cover. Start car. Cheers, Jim
