OK, well if that is the case then track day no question. You learn very little of what your car is really capable of on the roads. Make sure you are getting WOT before you go on track.

I would bin the steering wheel with the second two hundred - they suck bigger than a Black Hole.

Cool question........liked all the answers.......looking around for some cash!

Booney1golf,
I think I have a very good/correct answer fo you. I think you need more than $200 :) because all of the opinions above are valuable. All those maintenance/upgrade are good to the car and seem like none of them aren't on my "future list". The thing about our car is that "it never end" :)
Have fun.

Fun, educational, and interesting.

TRACK DAY!!!

+1!!! After doing one, you'll quickly realize what this car is supposed to be used for!
My only regret is having my car for 7 years before actually doing one... Now I can't stop!

Cheapest Biggest bang for the buck? Steve Wong Chip & a Cat bypass! Not only will the car be easier to drive, have more power, and get even better gas mileage, it'll sound cool too! :D

"add lightness".
remove rear seats.
remove sun visors.
remove carpets.
remove engine sound pad.
remove ...
Free.
or sell them and then buy a Steve Wong chip.

What would a cat bybass do for a stock SC with all other exhaust parts stock as well. I would like to change the exhaust but GOOD GOD the prices are steep.
I could handle maybe a Bursch muffler but what is the cat bypass gonna do. Then after I sell my left nut I could buy the SSI headers.

The cat bypass frees up the exhaust system for a bit more power. The result is debatable, but it should be somewhere north of 5 hp on an SC. Combine the bypass with a sport muffler and you might get over 10 hp.

Thanks to you all. As usual I am overwhelmed by the great response from all of you.

I plan on doing all of these, $200 at a time.

Keep the suggestions coming!!

dude, prices on SSI have risen over the years. now you have to sell your right nut. assuming of course that you are right handed:D

After a Steve Wong Chip, fabspeed premuffler, M&K exhaust, and short shift kit, i think i still haven't spent my best $200, until about 2 days ago that is. I ordered a new fan speed control for my A/C and a belt for the compressor.

The ac fan speed control there now was rusted in the off position from the previous owner (i have no idea how that happened), and my summers have been BRUTAL. hopefully between the speed control, ac compressor belt, and ac recharge, i will be able to say that i spent my best $200 or under purchase.

Can you really buy a track day and a tank of gas, or a corner balance and alignment for under $200 in the US? Over here a decent trackday plus gas is more like $400, and alignment and corner weights is getting on for $600 at a half decent place.

Costs aren't really comparable UK/US since a) exchange rate is way out for whack, b) most garages/shops have to pay huge rent due to overinfalted property values c) high wages need paying somehow.

Track days do seem expensive in the UK though.

I'd have to say getting rid of that John Deere tractor type steering wheel. Considering the steering wheel is our greatest point of input and feedback, getting one that is comfortable and more pleasing to the eye would be my choice for best upgrade for a couple hundred dollars.
