removing overspray from rubber trim bits

is it just a case of using white spirit or turpentine on the rubber trim bits (like door handle seals), if i get it on the paintwork and wipe off immediately i guess there is no harm done ?

Regards
Rick

Depends on the type of paint overspray.I don't know what white spirits are and turpentine wont work on dry oil based or water based paint. Lacquer thinner will be your best bet on dry oil and water. Goof-off works great on water based wont work on oil based.
Try not to get it on your paint though because it will screw up the finish if left long enough. Just use a Q-tip and patience and dry rag for keeping the paint clean.
Be careful both these products are hot(drys fast) dont get it on the paint if you can help it.
I would start with the goof-off it isn't as hot as lacquer thinner.
