are these euro pistons?

in tearing down my 3.0, I've got to the pistons. without removing a cylinder to see part #'s, can I tell if these are euro pistons? the piston top is 'peakier' than a regular 3.0 cis piston ( which I have in hand to compare) . the hollows are more defined and the high spots are more pronounced, or 'steeper'. any input much appreciated. Don.

Nope, those are both cast CIS pistons, 'normal,' and 'S' ... the Euro RS or Carrera piston is a slipper-skirt, forged, conventional, low-dome, 8.5:1 piston with two valve relief cuts.

That looks like a USA 3.0 CIS piston. 1980-1983

OK, I've dug into my other 3.0, #930-10. and just want to clarify. this is a CIS 3.0 9.3:1 piston?

and these are pics of a ROW 3.0 9.8:1 piston?

and one more thing. which of these pistons would be better to run webers with stock camshafts? I have concerns over the 9.8 CR due to our crappy gas here. thanks, Don.

Yea, you got it

I don't think there is much difference between the two but maybe others will chime in.
I switched from 9.3 to 9.8 only cuz my 9.3's were Alusil and we get 93 octane here in NJ.

heres another 9.8 pic
