Removing 5th Gear from a 915
I recently dropped my motor and tranny to fix some oil leaks, replace the 5th gear set and needle bearings. I would like to avoid splitting the tranny from the motor, but not sure how I would lock the input shaft when removing the bolts. Does anyone have an ideas?

1/2" impact wrench. the mainshaft is held pretty well by the clutch disc.

Well, being the novice that I am; an impact wrench is not part of my inventory. What I was able to do is put a socket wrench on the nut holding the reverse and 5th gears. Holding the handle down to the floor (it's sitting on a furniture dolly) I was able to turn the main shaft nut with using a slide bar marginal effort. Gots to do with what you have! Thanks.
