1979 911 sc lowering specs, please advise-heres where I sit now:

Measurements are to the bottom of the fender lip.
Has 17 inch cup wheels on it.
40 series and 45 series Kumho tires.

Front left: 26.25
Front right: 26.625
Rear Left: 26.125
Rear right: 26.25

Thinking of hitting about 25 - 25.25 in the front? is this too much? Leaving the back alone now. Once I lower the front I'll take for new alignment

It's lost the stock bumps and bump shocks in favor of super light fiberglas front yellowbird look bump. Back dropped the stock bump and shocks for yB back.

the factory has a rake that approximates 3/4" lower in the rear. I'd at least get the rear 1/2" lower using the highest point of the fender openings as reference.

I'm at 24.5"F and 23.75" R and a pair of Weltmeister rack spacers, works great.

Consider the type of roads and driveways you routinely drive on. It doesn't look like your front bumper has the rubber lip on it, but if it does, that will be a major factor in determining whether you want to go any lower than what you're planning on. Your numbers look fine to me, but I would add the rack spacer to help with potential bump steer issues.

What is the calculated diameter of your rear tires? If greater than 24" I like to see the rear height @ or maybe 1/4" above that, and then the front about 5/8" higher IMHO.

Edited to indicate front higher, not lower.

Euro spec given me is 24.5 F and 25.5R stock. Don't know about 17" wheels tho.

okay, so here where it's at. To answer a question for PaulPorsche. Diameter is 24.75". I got pretty involved on redoing the bearings up front, Got the front to about 26" now, but i'll double check after a bit more driving around
I do understand why the heck the driver side sits different now. I was measuring and had a friend sit in the car while I was doing it. The body dropped about .75 inches with about 165 pounds. So now I see I think why when it's empty why the measurements seemed wacky.
Think Ima shoot for 25.25 or so.

how does it drive once you lowered it that much. It looks great. My car looks like yours in the first picture and I want it to look like it in the second.

Could you measure the front and back for me?

Also, it looks like they built a house since the first and second picture. :-)

Not the best picture. I don't recall the numbers, but I know it's about half way between U.S. and Euro heights. I have to be careful and go at an angle to get in and out of the driveway.

Finally,

My original post had an error. I would go w/ 25"R and 25 5/8F. The front should be about 1/2 to 3/4 HIGHER.
