What is this Bosch circuit schematic telling me?
I'm puzzled. The diagram below is part of one of two circuit schematics for a 73.5 911 with CIS. Halfway down the picture (below) there is a white wire with black
stripe going from left to right, then turning down and dead-ending near the rear window heater switch (part 35.) The other end of this wire goes to 14 pin connector at the front most end of the motor, and goes on from there to dead end near the window heater relay, again without connecting to anything. Anyone know what that stranded white/black is supposed to be doing? Is it intended for an option of some kind? Hard to imagine what that might be. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1193338409.jpg |
Device #35 is the rear defrost switch, which uses the single-stage variety, normal, black round relay #51. The spare White/Black wire you ask about is used if a two-stage rear defrost relay is installed.

when reading Porsche schematics remember these two insave rules:
1. up is down (but not always) 2. circuits can be on two different sheets These schematics and the electrical system in general are clear confirmation that the Germans did use psychedelic drugs in the 1960s-70s -- just like the Oregon Hwy engineers who designed the freeway interchanges here... |
