Custom MK !!!

Well today I went over to Ben's place and he just didn't like the way my SC sounded, way too subdued. So with a little work he made a custom single in single out with a modified outlet pipe. The sound is absolutely perfect. Not loud but not too quiet either still very neighborhood friendly. It has a killer rumble nice and deep at idle and when she hits 4500 rpm it just sounds amazing.

Some pics for you all to enjoy! Also a couple of Bens stunning 77 Turbo, which I have yet to ride in..Someday.

Very cool. So that's Ben, huh? Funny how people always look different that the image you get after talking on the phone. I've been talking/working with Ben for 3 years. Very nice guy. In fact, I'm getting an M&K as we speak!

Hey Ben, what's the new secret Jon is talking about. ;) ??

Burint 10-29-2007 05:52 PM

Good story telling in your photos. I also a Ben's customer in Thailand.
Last photo in your first post with the dog, looks like he's trying to say something.
Thanks for sharing

drilling so close to the junk + somewhat baggy clothing = :p

jwernquist 10-29-2007 06:07 PM

Milt I'm telling ya you will love it. . . The sound is perfect.

Hahah "junk" well we took all the necessary safety precautions .. except the last minute drilling.... :) Besides I think Ben is castrated.. but dont quote me on that! :) It might have been his dog though? He does look a little sad and confused.

It should be noted that Jon came over to show me his new car and talked me into do some improv fabbing. I really was not ready (with parts on the shelf as they are typically not at home) to do the job hence the drill near the junk. I was a bit nervous as well . it turned out very nice.

Milt give me a call when you have a chance so we can get you set up..

What was custom about this muffler as compared to the off-the-shelf versions?

MIK911 10-29-2007 09:27 PM

What was done? Tail pipe extended and angled rearward? Did this change the sound/loudness?

Drew001 10-29-2007 10:05 PM

Love the stance of that Turbo.

mb911 10-30-2007 04:50 AM

Whats custom is this muffler was designed for a complete different application of tail pipes and I ended up reworking it to Jons needs with parts found in the corner. So I built it on the car versus a fixture. Internally nothing was changed but the end plate where the tail pipe mount is wrong for the application but I worked around it and it turned out well.. I am glad Jon likes the final product. and a cool picture of my car and dog as well

I saw this car before it was shipped from CA to WI. Ben got screwed by a jerk that we ran off the board years ago. (Ferrari2Porsche) Ben apparently has done an outstanding job of transforming a rough car into a real cherry.

Keep up the good work Ben ;)

Yep.....that's Ben allright....and his helper Oscar. I've been at Ben's house and you're right "porsche930dude".....he's usually much more safety conscious concerning wearing baggy clothing while working with high rpm tools. When I've been there while he's working, he's usually wearing spandex tights, a tank top, and some sensible shoes.
