How many miles for break in

My newly rebuilt transmission is a little sticky. How many miles do I need to put on it before it's back to normal? Anything I should look out for?
Thanks

If by "sticky" you mean it feels "new" ....I would say 100 or so miles of normal driving. If "sticky" means grinding or not easily going into gear etc....you need to have it checked for a possible issue.

I had no break in, worked perfectly from mile one.

Must have been old parts:D

I have found that when using new syncros and new shift sleeves that they shift "firm" for about 1000 miles.

I have also found that you can get them to shift very slick by following the post listed below. The idea is to get the the sharp sandpaper texture of the syncros worn in little faster. There may be those who think this procedure is nuts but many shops do a similar procedure before delivering the car. With the axles disconnected it does no harm. You can pack a 1000 miles of shifting in very quickly.

Good luck.

Good luck.

No, everything new, very little was salvageable at all, including the bearings. Maybe my mechanic has a trick....
