Value of 2.2 911T motor (Rebuilt)
Hello
Iam checking on what do you guys think the value of this motor is, or what I can sell it for.... Rebuilt by Roger Bursch of Bursch Scientific Runs really strong, no issues, excellent condition 2.2 motor off a '70 911T Weber carbs 40mm SSI Thank you for the responses |
Is it a stock rebuild. What exactly was done to it? Do you have a receipt(s) to prove it. I would think this would be important in determining a price. Also, how many miles when rebuilt and how many since the rebuild? My guess for a stock fully rebuilt 2.2 would be about $6,000.00. Anybody else?

Yes we have receipt for it, It is my brothers motor off his '70 911T.
It has about 40K on the rebuilt, I can double check all this... |
$3K.... tops....

A 2.2T engine is not all that desireable to anyone other than an owner of a stock '70-71T who needs a replacement stock engine for some reason. If the rebuild included some higher performance parts (S pistons, cams, heads) and the documentation shows that, it might be worth a bit more. My $.02, TT |
TT
Thank you for the info, when my brother is ready to sell it, we will post a video of the car running/idling etc.. I will also get the spec sheet so I can post what was done to the engine... It may have some performance parts but not sure, it is much quicker than my stock 71 T w/PMO carbs/MSD/SSI/Monty... Here are some pics of motor / car http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1194101737.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1194101801.jpg |
Well, my point was that is simply not a sought after engine. Not so much that its not WORTH more, you're just going to to a hard time selling it for more when for $6K you can get a very nice 3.2 or for $7-8K a nice 3.6.

Someone suggested 3K I think this is more realistic, since it has webers and SSI. |
My brother is still debating on a fair price for it... Here are the info.. for anyone who may be interested... I will post it on parts classifieds once price is finalized.
