Sunroof Motor Repair

My sunroof motor will only run intermittently. I have already determined that it is the motor; not the wiring, switch, etc.

I am thinking the carbon brushes are worn away. The armature, windings and commutator all look fine to me. I have taken it to some motor shops and they say they can't (or won't) fix it.

Has anyone had one of these apart and replaced the brushes? Where can I get replacement brushes? I haven't been able to track down the original French manufacturer via the Internet.

Just a bump.

I think I might take advantage of our strong currency exchange rate and order a new motor, and a few other items, from our host.

You could take it to a local electric motor repair shop. If its one thats been in business a long time theres probably somebody in it that can find a set of brushes that'll fit. Probably some really old guy named Herman.........
