Fan Housing Hold Down Strap...

Howdy,

I just had my fan housing powder painted and when I went to install the hold down strap I noticed that the rear side of the strap is riding up on the ridge of the housing instead laying flat in recess. The top is fine, it's just the sides that has this fittment problem. I'm considering sanding about 1/16" off the edge of the strap. Which will probably ruin my new cad plating.

The fan housing is in it's correct location, tight against the crankcase at the back and bottom. I think it's just an issue of the strap being too wide for the new powder painted recess. Has anyone had this issue?

Also in my haste to get the engine stripped down I forgot to take a pix of how the gray plastic air duct with the two large vanes is clocked? I hate myself when I have to ask these dumb questions...

Thanks,
