Higher RPM Rotor for Magnetti Distributor
Hi, a friend of mine just got a 69 Targa with what seems to be a 914/6 motor since it's running webers and the engine number is not stamped in the usual location but towards the front of the engine. The car is really quick through the gears and revs up really quick which also leads to the engine closing at around 6000 RPM. The Distributor is a Magnetti Marelli and we cannot seem to find a replacement rotor with higher RPM's like the ones available for cars with Bosch / Beru distributors. Are any available, can the Magnetti be replaced for a Bosch unit? The engine seems to want more but the RPM issue is limiting this at 6000...

If this is the type of rotor that has a spring loaded device on it...why not just solder the device permanently closed?

or just remove the spring loaded device. then you get any rpm you want.
