Roll the fuse in the receptacle. Get a test light or better yet a multimeter and check for power on the fuse terminals.
Stupid question....have you tried pulling on the wipers with the switch on and the engine running? BTW, 94 Carrera 3.2?

Is there a relay for your car's wipers? Can you hear anything when the switch is on?

Are you getting power to the wiper motor?

Its a great opportunity to get yourself a 12V test-light.
There could be 4 main reasons for this: 1. Fuse - you say its OK, but if its one of these bullet fuses you can never know (~$1) 2. Relay - in case there is one, it may be faulty (~$40) 3. Switch - at times, especially in the older models, the contacts on the handle loose it. You may want to try and bypass the handle to assure that its not the switch (~$250). 4. The wiper motor itself might be dead, in which case replacement of the assembly is required (~$180-$350 depending on source and state) If its the switch, you may want to delay the investment in a new assembly and simply install an aftermarket 2 position switch. Not real restoration, but cashflow positive :-) However, take into account that functions may start failing as well at some point (i.e. turn lights etc.). Good luck! |
