what is the Weight of a 1981 SC?

Anyone have data better than a guess at the weight of a 81 SC? I have heard and read everything from 2400 lbs. to 3100 lbs. The car in question is fully loaded with sunroof and fiberglass turbo body kit. The car seems a little sluggish and I am wondering if it is a weak motor or just too portly...

Thanks. As always!

According to the 911 FAQ, the 81 SC is 2760 pounds, does 0-60 in 7.0 seconds, with 180 hp, 180 foot pounds of torque, and a top speed of 140 mph.

There are many weights -- I don't know what you have added by your bodywork, but my 83 (Euro) was weighed at the track last year. All weights are with 15 gallons of gas (at 6.x or something pounds per gallon) on board and full AC.

15 inch Fuchs 7 & 8s, 225/245 G-Force. Looks like the seats (sport seats) and the AC are the only places to economically offset the weight that will be added back in by the roll-bar.

no back seats, carpet, engine sound insulation, tool kit, jack, or smog pump.

without driver - 2639
without driver/without spare - 2605

factory weights are with all those things.

Freight carriers, land-fills, and truck weigh stations all have scales which you could use for comparison. You can give up a surprising amount of performance by going to aftermarket wheels and super wide tires.

There is no way to even guess how much a modified car weighs. Too many variables. The original range you quote is as close as you can get without actually weighing the car. I CAN say that the bone stock 3.0L is not very peppy, and if you add a wide body, heavy wheels, and wide tires it will only make things worse.
