Headlights - Japanese H4 to H5 to Euro H4
Hello. Newbie to this group.
Out for an evening drive in August (with my H5 lights installed as a replacement for the Japanese - RHD H4's that came with the car when imported from Japan. Ended up connecting with a cougar at 95km with driver's side headlight and bumper (as I didn't see it coming.....). Cougar limped off with what I'm sure was a major headache and broken hip (swung around when hit and dished in the driver side door). Turns out it broke the pot metal H5 bracket. I'm wondering which way to go, find a new H5 bracket, or go to H4's. From what I am reading, H4's seem to be the way to go? If I go with a pair of H4s, is there a way of reusing the Japanese H4 brackets (which I kept) and just replacing lenses, or do I need to replace the entire Japanese headlight assembly? Thanks |

I am not sure what you are calling an H4 bracket ... are you referring to the Bosch headlamp housing? If so, replacing the RHD lenses with the replacement lenses from Pelican will give you a LHD Bosch H4 assembly!

I will attach some photos to help explain. Lens shows H4. What I was calling a bracket I guess is the piece with the yellow Bosch label. So I take it I can just swap out the lenses? That would be good news!

Can it be confirmed that all I need to do to make these Japanese H4's into a LHD usable set is to buy some Pelican H4 lenses? Everything behind the lens is the same for both LHD and RHD 911's? Thanks again
