smoke on start-up
I know 911's will smoke on start-up, mine does as well. Lately it's a cloud of smoke. I run my garage fan facing the front of my car, in an effort to keep the smoke out of my garage. Sometimes it won't smoke at all. When she does smoke, the car could be on a slant parked or, she could be on a level spot. I'm wondering if its time for a valve job at 137000 miles?

I found mine smokes more when the front end is higher than the rear when parked on a hill. Also if the oil level is slightly high, it will smoke more.

Assuming the smoke is out of the exhaust pipe vs around the engine, I am thinking worn rings or intake valves.

Could be rings or valve guides. Do a leakdown. A tight engine usually doesn't smoke on start up unless it's been sitting for a good length of time. |

mine makes white smoke and it doesnt smell oily at all could it just be condensation? also i get a good amout of water on the floor where it comes out of the exhaust. Is your smoke blue or white?

I get that too. My car typically sits for a week at a time before start ups. Sometimes more.
