Downforce between RUF and IROC front spoiler?

I am wondering which front spoiler, with an integrated oil cooler, will produce the best downforce. The only good options I have seen so far are the IROC and RUF.

Here are the photos... Hopefully:

The bad thing on both is that either I loose the fog lights with the IROC, granted you gain brake cooling ducts, or have to replace the fog lights with Cerrera units with the RUF spoiler.

I currently have a fiberglass whaletail rear lid/spoiler that is great for downforce, but the front needs more than that POS rubber chin spoiler.

Also I have seen people at the track put on an aluminum plate(duck billish) under the IROC front spoiler to add more downforce. This is not something I plan to do, but is the front that "light" at speed even with a more racey spoiler?

Thanks,

The lower the lip the less air will get under the car ie the more effective it is. Ruf also had a rubber lip under the bumper cap/spoiler

You can use the light holes for brake cooling as I have, but keep in mind that each hole in the spoiler defeats its purpose. After you are as low as possible then the horizontal splitters are needed.

Wow, I'm looking for a RUF front end like the one in the previous pictures. I want narrow body. What were you going to pay for the bumper and valance and where did you find it? Thanks guys.

I will defer to Bill on most of these questions.

But I got the pictures from: http://www.wholesaler-usa.com/rennspeed/

Another good place is: http://www.gt-racing.com/

The spoiler should not be that expensive... The pricey part is the oil cooler and 16-AN SS braided lines. And paint can get expensive too if properly done. Also add the price of Cerrera fogs if you need them.

The RUF originally came in the narrow body, so the replicas are good in that respect. I think the rear was wider though with special RUF steel rear fenders(note different than 930s), but not sure?

My estimate for this complete conversion is around $1500. Bill am I in the ball park?

Thanks, I think the RUF is the way to go. Very clean look and not too kid racer.

Is the link to my web page. I had a Ruf style which eventually broke at the opening for the oil cooler (due to some agricultural racing http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/wink.gif ). I went with the IROC, or 935 style from GT Racing. $300 for spoiler, $200 paint. I had the car photo'd to match the paint for other work. I then found a guy that worked at a body shop for a car dealer. He did the spray work on the side. Good luck.

I just did the RUF front and rear spoiler on my 79' sc. The total cost installed was around $2000. The front and rear spoiler from MA Shaw cost around $850.00. The body work cost around $1200.00. I started to mount the spoilers but thought it would be better to let a pro do it. I talk to the body guy who put them on for me. He said the rear was not bad but the front was a *****, that there was nothing to mount it to. But he did a great job on it. Its super strong and most people will not be able to tell that it is aftermarket.
