Yeah, and maybe by then they will have dash back-date kits so they don't look like a GM product.

It takes 17 years for others to appreciate it. If you own it now, you will be labeled a "no flashing, arrogant, yuppy, uncaring, jerk" without anyone actually knowing you.

I don't care if it has a dash. 250 more horsies and 200 lbs lighter than my SC. I'm saving my pennies! Who knows, I may still be able to see well enough to drive it. My wife says I probably won't be able to get in and out of it by myself. I make funny noises getting out of the SC now.

Robert, who told you the 996 Turbo was 200# lighter than your SC? More like 900# heavier.

Well, +700 lbs, anyway ... using 3500 for the 996 Turbo vs 2800 for the SC (both rounded up to the nearest hundred) ...

I knew it was too good to be true. I misread the article. Porsche's new 2001 911 GT2 is 200 1bs lighter than the 996 with 462 hp.
