Please indulge me (a few pics of the new car)

Well as some of the people who follow this board may know I recently sold my Kiln Red '84 to a fellow Pelican (twobone) to make room for a new car. I always received a lot of compliments on that car so this one had to be a big step up.

I had always wanted a turbo and the right car came along at the right price. This was a classic case of the car finding the owner. I hadn't thought about acquiring a slantnose but the originality and condition of this car meant I couldn't pass it up. After years of owning the traditional look it took less than a week to get accustomed to the new front end.

I spent the three day weekend completing a major and comprehensive cleaning of the interior of the car. I did the outside last weekend. It's as close to new condition as you could ever hope to expect for a 20 year old car with 46K miles. Here is the result.

While I will always have fond memories of the Kiln Red car I know I made the right choice for me.

Out with the old

And in with thew new

Outstanding! I've always liked the uncommon colors on 911s of all years.
The ivory '73 ain't too shabby either; my '72 started out in that shade as well.
Best wishes with the new ride.

Awesome! I am not a big fan of the slant nose option, but your car looks fantastic.

Congrats!

Cheers,

Paul.

I'm not a huge fan of the slantnose - at least I wasn't until I saw your new beauty.

I really like how the interior & exterior colors compliment each other - not exactly indentical, but...

I also haven't see that steering wheel horn pad before. Was it a specific option, or is it custom/aftermarket?

Stunning! Looks brand new! In comparison, mine looks very second hand. I hope you have the heart to use it.

Thanks guys,

dw1, my understanding was that the offset crest on the horn pad was part of the 930S (M505) package. At least I was told that's one of the ways to help ID "real" '87-'89 M505 cars from recreations.

squerly, I have been living in the garage lately.......

Wow. So, how's about a driving impression. I'm interested to hear honest opinions of how the turbo is different from your Carrera. Is it hard to get comfortable with? Is it one or two worlds faster?
