Need a SWB chassis measurement
Can anyone with access today to a SWB chassis that happens to have a stripped interior rear parcel shelf do me the huge favor of measuring the length between the two threaded holes on each side of that shelf from center to center of each hole? And then the length from the inside edge of the chassis wall on each side of the car at the same height as the threaded holes? This might be just where the headliner meets the vinyl below it, but I'm not sure offhand.
I can't access my car today and don't have the time to strip the parcel shelf upholstery anyway, but I'm fabricating a harness bar in the welding shop either tonight or Wednesday and need the dimensions. I'd like to have the bar ready as soon as I strip the back. Also, if anyone can tell me the bolt size and pitch for those holes, that would be great. Cheers! |
Harness bars are not recommended: if you are going to be strapped in the seat a proper rollbar is a better idea.

John, I know, and a roll bar is going in. But I might go with an original style R roll bar that didn't have the provision for harnesses. Plus, I'm looking for some modest welding projects to start with besides the projects assigned for class--which don't result in any useful objects, just exercises that get destructively tested. Well, except for the pads. Those I'm just collecting.

As it happens, class/the school were closed for the holiday yesterday, and I'd forgotten about that, so no progress on this so far. |
