930 rear wheels stone guard material

I am looking for a stone guard solution for the areas behind each wheel, preferably something detachable.

3M makes a clear solution for this application. Has anyone used it and if so any opinions? Can it be easily installed and removed? Regarding the black stone guard material often seen on 80's 930's rear wheel arches: Is the Porsche material available by the sheet (or is it always pre cut) and if so where can I get it? I realize the Porsche material is an adhesive solution. If the clear 3M product is easily removable perhaps one could fashion something out of the 3M material then glue the 930 material over it? I have fat wheels and sticky tires and the result is the sandblasting of paint. Any ideas are appreciated. Regards, Eric Hoffman ericerichoffman(at)yahoo.com |

The Porsche 930 stone guards are tough to beat, pre cut ready to go. Our host offers them, not to expensive. They are easy to apply I think thicker than the 3M stuff. The 3M stuff is also good. Without anything the paint takes a beating.

member bell knows about this film that's dealer applied. And he confirmed it's good stuff. I'll eventually be using it. If it's good enough for bell it's good enough for me.

I've posted this before...a good substitute for the black Turbo spats is Ray Allen's "wing walk". I think I posted the web site before or it can also be had from Aircraft Spruce, etc.....sold in sheet sizes, nice fine pebble-grain finish...

it's called clearguard by 3m most window tint places know of this stuff, but not alot do it due to the labor involved installing....call around and make sure you find someone who is not a rookie with it. you could check with some "high end" leasing companies as to who they use (if they use it).....they are the ones who'll sub the job out to a quality independent tinter.....most of the time anyway
