rear seat belt question... are yours harder than diamond to adjust

Are all rear seat belts a pain to adjust. Mine take an adult to do the job, and it is still difficult sometimes to tighten or loosen the strap. My kids cannot do it at all. Just wondering if this is "normal", or do I need to fix them somehow?

Do you mean the ratchet itself functions roughly or the belt housing bolted to the body?

My belts are difficult if you suddenly pull on the belt to use it. I constantly have to tell my kid to be gentle and pull the belt.

As far as the bolt, I tightened it because it fell off. if you do not torque it, it wil come loose.

I found once torqued properly it will function as it should.

I am talking about the rear seats (2 point lap belts). The buckle end that "slides" on the belt.

Yup. Same year car as well.
I just take consolation in the fact that should I ever get in an accident I know those suckers aren't moving!

The sun (UV) makes the cloth stiff; doesn't flex well, which it must do to adjust. Cab makes it worse.

Only fix is new belts, I think.

Yeah, I see what you are saying. I have to push/pull a little at a time to get the fabric through the buckle... I just thought I was missing a trick somewhere...
