re-installing door panels

okay...I got the little SC back from the body/paint shop and the door panels are off...does anyone know the steps to correctly putting them back on?

Thanks

Rob

Its soooo easy. Pop the panel on, feed the window switch wires through the holes if you have them, screw the door lock circle piece on to hold the door in place, feed the door latch metal bar thing through the hole into the door latch on the other side of the panel, screw the door handle pull back on the door, put the door pocket lid into the door pull, then the door pocket latch thing that is in the door pocket, screw the 4 or 5 screws on the bottom pocket onto the door, and well I think you are about done. If you just look at it it should make sense, as long as you have all the old screws and pieces.

Great post with one change....leave the door pull hex screws slightly loose as it'll help with aligning the rest of the fasenters/screws. Once those hex screws are tight, it's a pain to move the door panel around.

door panel re-attachment

oh yeah...I forgot to mention a key part...they put new 993 handles on so all the door opening/locking mechanisms are undone...that is really the catch (lol)

Thanks for your help

Should there also be a vapor barrier installed to shield out moisture intrusion?

Yep....it's usually stuck to the door. If it came back without it, I'd ask the body shop for it back.

Piece of cake! All it takes is a lot of patience and hands the size of a newborn infant
