Which ones, which ones? Im not sure. I do not see a model number. They look a lot beefier than say the ones on my 73T.

Are you talking about the early "S" alloy calipers, as fitted to the 911S (and most E) models as well as the first couple years of Turbos?
If so, they are "desirable" because of their light weight compared to the contemporary iron calipers. Some say the downside is that they flex more but for street driving I have never heard that to be a real issue. They sell for something like $1500/each new (could be more, it's kind of a "joke" number anyway) but good used ones seem to run between $200 (lucky find, needs work) to perhaps $800 (fully rebuilt, concours) a pair. |

The early "S" calipers were aluminum and used a pad with the same area as the later cast iron "A" caliper used on SC/Carrera, they require 3.5" mounting ears on the struts. "T" has only 3" ears. The advantage of the "S" caliper is its lighter weight. The factory decided to stop using them when they found that they could save the same or more weight by judicous choice of tires
