ground strap ontop of the case?

I started putting the engine back together this weekend. Didn't get to far, b/c I just can't recall where this ground strap goes! I took detail photos of almost everthing I've disconnected/taken apart and it's worked very well up to this point. I've looked thru all my pics and just can't seem to find one for where this goes.

I have several pics of all the connections to the alternator, like this one:

I don't see this ground strap in there in any of the pics. But the way the bend is on this strap seems to suggest that it does go somewhere on the alternator, or perhaps the fan housing.

I do remember removing the diverter from the back of the fan housing. But I don't remember the strap being removed during this step.

I'm a little embarrassed about this. Can anyone give me any insight to the proper location for this ground?

Thanks,

Chris

Ground Cable....

Chris,

This ground cable is attached to one of the lower studs holding the diverter. This cable was detachedd prior to air diverter removal if you recall it. Hope this helps.

Tony:

That's what I was thinking. But I couldn't really recall clearly. I was just wanting to make sure.

I appreciate the reply.

Mine didn't have a strap like that, but one of the brown wires that goes on the alternator runs to the engine case like what you have shown. Mine was just a brown wire but yours might be older or changed out at some time. I would vensure a guess that it goes to the same terminal as all the brown wires from the harness.

Good luck.
