964 tail light conversion. How do I do it
 

What do I need to do to the rear sheet metal of my 79 930 to modify it to accept the center section of the 964 tail lights.

Looks like I have to trim out the outer box section.

I'd suggest that you give this some serious thought before you do it. If you really want to, then I'd suggest you get the center section first and inspect it with your car. The part is attached to the 964 via tabs with which screws pass through to hold it to the car. Since you won't have these tabs you'll either need to make them or come up with some alternative. You might consider as an alternative what others have done, search center reflector replacement.
