4300 mile trip stats C4
Just returned from a Cedar Rapids (IA) - San Diego - LA - Cedar Rapids trip in the P car with " She who must be obeyed" as the passenger. Good news, we are still talking, to each other even.
Trip MPG: 22.6 Oil consumption: 1 litre Mechanical failures: 1 turn signal bulb Wierd stuff: Altitude sickness climbing to Flagstaff, miss-fire behaviour more like fuel starvation on a partial thottle. Cured itself overnight or if the engine was off for more than an hour or so. Full throttle response was fine. Does anyone know how to test the altitude sensor on a 964? Average running speed was around 84 max attained was 135 somewhere in Warren's state, Also developed a leak from the rubber seals on the induction tubes. For those of us that live in the frozen north expect seals that are fine with the rubber being cold to leak when the car is driven into warm climates. The last time I had tightened the clamps it was around 0 deg F outside. What a drive, I loved every minute! Bob 90 C4 |

Last Oct traveled from Kansas City to Dallas. About 10 hour trip and entirely in the rain. My C-4 preformance in the rain was unbelievable. Great stability at highway speeds and faster. No oil usage on the trip. Jim V. Next trip will be this summer from Texas to Wisconsin.
