A little help please - AC Temperature control switch??

I just got my AC recharged after replacing lines, evaporator, desert duty front condensor.

Was thrown a little curve ball as the temp sensor that cycles the compressor was not working. No problem - they put the a toggle switch on - until I could get a replacement from pelican - 39 degrees at the vents - I'm happy with that.

Worked fine when you cycled the compressor from the toggle switch.

OK - so got the replacement - and this one doesn't kick on the compressor either. I'm thinking of just replacing with an on/off switch - any way that I can just hook my (side mirror heater switch) 911 613 159 00? (on the cabs it replaces the rear window defogger) - I really don't have a need for heated mirrors. It has a nice light that shows when it's "ON" is it a two pole?

any thing else I should try?

Armed with minimal AC experience and only my Bentley manual, it looks like the only thing that can be causing such a problem (since the toggle switch work-around ran the compressor) is the temperature probe and capillary tube from the evaporator. Did you correctly reinstall the probe and were you careful not to crimp the tube. Could it have gotten clogged durning the new evaporator intall? Is it connected at the switch?

Good luck
Andrew

Thanks - I'll check that - doh - didn't even think of the probe into the evaporator - but wouldn't that make it run all the time - I guess I'll check the connections again too as it was a tight fit
