4 Relay headlight upgrade?

I'm planning a "4 relay upgrade" to my headlights so I can use larger wattage bulbs. I will install 12 g wires from the relays to the lights and shall use 25a inline fuses for the power wires (10g). All connects will be soldered and shrink - wrapped.

Does anyone have a successful wiring diagram they could post/ send to help with the install? I'm confident in my ability with directions but very nervous with the electrics. Can anyone help?

Personally, I would regard 4 relays as being a bit 'overkill', but many here would probably disagree, so whatever floats your boat.

One installation that comes to mind was one done by Zoanas, so if you search on his username and maybe 'relays', or 'headlights', you should find some good dialog and diagrams.

Good luck with your project; it's a fun one!

Here we go again, Ianc.

Here is a thread that Ianc posted awhile ago.

And here is one that I did.

What I will say is that I am now over 200,000 miles on my daily driver, and I have had zero failures with my six-relay setup. Yes, I said six. Take a look at the thread, and it will describe my logic. If you intend to increase the wattage of your bulbs, I would consider my setup, since it cuts in half the current flow through the relays.

Thank you, you guys rock!

Perfectly simple, I'm betting a bit of work to get them well positioned and discrete! I hadn't even considered the driving lights... might as well do them while I'm in there. I'm thinking just the one relay as the voltage is so low etc. Thanks again.
